Sinochem International Yangzhou ABS Modified Material Factory Was Put into Operation

As we all know, there are many main raw materials for toys, such as ABS, PVC, PP, PC, PE, EVA, PU. ABS has good functionality, high safety and environmental protection. Recently, Sinochem International Yangzhou moved a new factory and invested 500 million RMB. Accelerate the promotion of ABS China strategy and jointly promote the development of China's ABS industry.

On August 18, Sinochem International Yangzhou ABS modified material factory opened and put into operation. This new factory is an important part of Sinochem International's ABS China strategy. It will expand Sinochem International's industrial footprint in the field of engineering plastics and further promote the company's new material industrialization process.

The new factory is located in Sinochem Yizheng New Material Industrial Park, with a total investment of about 500 million yuan and an area of about 65 acres. It is planned to build 56,000 tons per year of ABS and PC modified materials in two phases. It is operated by Sinochem Engineering Plastics (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary.

The first phase of the project put into operation this time has an investment of 210 million yuan. Construction will start in April 2021, with a production capacity of 24,000 tons/year of ABS modified materials. The second phase of 32,000 tons of production capacity is scheduled to be put into operation in 2023.

ABS is a terpolymer composed of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene. It has the advantages of high strength, good toughness, easy processing and forming, and easy coloring. It is one of the polymers with the largest output and the most widely used. At present, China's ABS resin production capacity is close to 5 million tons, but there is still an average annual demand of about 2 million tons that needs to be imported, and the core technology of ABS polymerization needs to be broken through.

In 2019, Sinochem International officially entered the ABS field by acquiring ELIX Polymers , a leading European manufacturer of ABS and ABS alloy materials.

Sinochem International said that ABS is one of the new material industries that Sinochem International focuses on fostering. The operation of the new factory in Yangzhou has enabled Sinochem International to form a domestic and overseas production capacity layout for ABS business. It can rely on a global supply system, international marketing service capabilities and ELIX's product and brand advantages will expand the domestic automobile, electronic appliances, medical and other markets, and further expand the global market share.

In terms of modified ABS, the domestic production capacity is about 2.5 million tons, and the import dependence is about 30%. With the development of downstream markets such as home appliances, electronic appliances, and automobiles, the domestic modified ABS market has a broad market space, especially in the mid-to-high-end market. Enterprises with innovative technologies and complete product categories will occupy a more favorable competitive position.

Sinochem International will customize the production of modified ABS products of different specifications, such as heat-resistant ABS, flame-retardant ABS, PC, by flexibly adjusting the equipment configuration of the production line according to the needs of different ABS modified formulas in the newly put into operation factory.
