Choose the mechanism before comparing price. Manual pump, continuous electric, battery-powered and backpack-fed water guns have different component counts, leakage risks, assembly steps and carton profiles. Ask each supplier to quote the same function, tank capacity, range target, accessory set, color mix and packaging format so the comparison is commercially meaningful.

Confirm the exact item and approved sample

Record the item number shown on the product page and use it on the RFQ, sample approval, packaging artwork, purchase order and inspection checklist. Similar shells can contain different pumps, seals, batteries, lights or charging components. A photograph alone is not enough to identify the version that will be produced. For electric formats, confirm battery type, capacity, charging cable, water-resistance controls and any transport-document requirements that apply to the shipment.

Plan MOQ, cartons and landed logistics

Request units per inner and master carton, carton dimensions, gross and net weight, CBM, assortment ratio and pallet assumptions where relevant. A low unit price can be offset by inefficient packaging or an unsuitable color mix. For a mixed container, calculate quantities from complete cartons and verify whether different water-toy items can share the same production and loading window. Confirm sample cost, production lead time, inspection timing and the FOB or EXW basis in writing.

Review safety evidence by destination market

Age grading, mechanical hazards, restricted substances, battery construction, labeling and packaging warnings depend on the product and destination. Ask for available reports or declarations tied to the quoted item, material and configuration; do not assume a general factory certificate covers every water gun. The importer remains responsible for confirming current market requirements and final labeling.

Define OEM and private-label scope early

Separate stock-product changes from tooling changes. Logo printing, color selection, inserts, cartons and barcode labels may follow different minimums and artwork deadlines. New molds, altered electronics or performance changes require a separate feasibility, sample and test review. Send the target quantity, country, channel and packaging brief through thewholesale RFQ form, and use theevidence workflowwhen reviewing shortlisted items.

For repeat orders, keep a controlled reference set: approved sample, item specification, color standard, packaging files, inspection photos and the final carton marks. Reconfirm any component or material change before replenishment. This record makes later quotations easier to compare and reduces the risk that a visually similar water gun is substituted for the version previously approved.
